Dear Michael and Stephanie:
Thank you for your kind inquiry about us after the destructive earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accidents in Tohoku(northeastern) region in Japan. Fortunately we are far south from the area and so far not affected by the disaster but emotionally feel much distressed by the news of sufferings of those who have had to undergo such a tragedy. Right now we watch the TV news about the four nuclear reactors at Fukushima that are emitting radioactive air that reaches as far as Tokyo. But for the nuclear disasters we would have gone today as usual to the site of the construction of two new nuclear plants to stage an anti-power plant protest at Kaminoseki about fifty miles south-west of Hiroshima. Because of the news of the disaster those responsible for the construction of the power plant decided to temporarily stop working on them. We do hope they nullify the project for good.
Mitsuo sends his greetings to you.
