TRY THIS: Practice NONVIOLENT COMMUNICATION. Begin by listening with empathy and compassion to what you are being told. Make observations of what is being done by whom without assuming motives or causes. Share how you feel and what you need. Make a request for what you would like to have happen. Visit the Center for Nonviolent Communication website to learn how to follow these steps and where to get more information. Let us know how this works for you by commenting on the Metta Blog!
After you visit the web site, you could borrow one of Rosenberg’s books or videos either at your local library or through Interlibrary Loan. I hope to be viewing “Basics of Nonviolent Communication” this weekend.
Thanks for all the good tips!
Thanks for the tips and especially the CNVC link. I visited the site and have since been listening to some Marshall Rosenberg audio CDs.
Listening and learning about NVC has confirmed for me some of my current practice and launched me into another dimension in other areas.
So, thanks again, Ken
