Nonviolent Communication is one way of applying the principles of nonviolence into our way of being in the world, and it facilitates our deepening relationships with others when the practices are internalized and made fluent by the person trying to use them. In this series of videos, Marshall Rosenberg, founder of the NVC practice, introduces the basics of this tool.
There are many organizations that can lead people through the key practices and tools of formal Nonviolent Communication as a method and the nuances of its applications. We recommend the work of Miki Kashtan and friends at Bay Area Nonviolent Communication as one of many great starting places as well as the Center for Nonviolent Communication. We also highly admire the work of Oren Jay Sofer which interweaves NVC practices with mindfulness.

One NVC resource that has been very helpful to me is Mary Mackenzie’s daily meditation book entitled Peaceful Living. Mary skillfully teaches NVC principles and applications that start on Day 1 with the basics and build learning and applications each day for a full year.
