Dear Friends,
A way to channel fear, frustration, boredom, anger and other strong emotions–as well as to grow together in depth and strength– in the home during shelter-in-place is to build the necessary life-skills for peacemaking.
I invite you to join this free Metta Center course as a parent, a family, an educator, a concerned relative for the benefit of the youth and children in your life.
With care,
Stephanie Van Hook, Executive Director

Peacemaker Family is a 12-week Metta Center-led course where you explore how your family can thrive as a loving force of nonviolence, in your home and in the rest of the world.
The skills of peacemaking are SERIOUS life-skills that help children and youth thrive as they navigate their emotions, feelings, and support them as they awaken into compassion and care for the world around them. There is no education more powerful, and when we approach it as a family, we are solidifying a base for self-confidence and empowerment that can bring resilience for the toughest challenges life offers.
Through various activities, readings, and conversations, your family will come to define and practice your own values as peacemakers. You’re encouraged to be creative with and expand on the activities, especially with younger children.
The more families can practice nonviolence, the greater potential we all have for experiencing lasting peace as a global human family.
This program is suitable for all ages, even for children as young as 3 and can accommodate busy schedules. Educators are also welcome.
The program begins on April 20, and is free of charge as an offering to support families, youth, and children at this time of “sheltering in place.” To sign up, please fill out this registration form.
