July 28: Teachers’ Retreat in Berkeley, CA

Love in Action: New Education for the New Paradigm

Dear Educators,

The Metta Center for Nonviolence is hosting its annual teachers’ retreat, this year a one day, in Berkeley on July 28, 2012. The retreat is from 10 am until 6 pm.
The title is “Love in Action: New Education for the New Paradigm” with an emphasis on nonviolence: nonviolent pedagogy, the subject itself, and building a nonviolent classroom. We will also explore personal nonviolence and techniques for handling stress. This is open to teachers and educators of all levels as workshops will encourage participants to explore the content discussed and apply it to fit their needs. This event is created to help educators create a community of support to help them throughout the year. The workshop is our offering this summer to educators, and while there is no formal payment required (we know that people who do want to make an offering to support this will step forward to help us cover the costs), we are asking that individuals register in advance so we can have a clear sense of how many people to expect. You can register at this link. Directions to the event are available at that link, as well. Questions can be sent to Stephanie (stephanie@mettacenter.org)
Hope to see some of you there!
Stephanie
