Peace Paradigm Radio, November 1, 2013: Nonviolence in the News, various activism updates and inspiration

How is nonviolence being put to the test to challenge some of the toughest issues out there?

In today’s show, Michael and Stephanie are joined by Metta friends Anna Leinberger and Russ Faurbrauc in the studio. Michael talks with two dedicated activists, Elliott Adams and Sherri Maurin from Closegitmo.net about the need to close down Guantanamo Bay Detention Center as a step in the process of ending war.

The emphasis of this show is on the power of nonviolence organization and activism. Russ Faurbrauc takes us to the Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence in Rochester, New York to explore their applications of Gandhi’s ideas in their center, Anna Leinberger follows that up with some inspiration from Gandhi’s writings, and Michael explores some issues in the news from a nonviolence angle, with special attention paid to the issue of school gun violence.

Michael mentions his latest piece on Transformation which can be found here.

Enjoy this show.
